Jury trial on civil cases

Alfredo Castellanos, Esq. makes history, gaining the support of judges from the Court of First Instance to recognize Puerto Ricans with their right as U.S. citizens to have a jury trial on civil cases. This decision is based on the fourteenth amendment of the Constitution of the United States that guarantees equal legal protection. Alfredo Castellanos, Esq. has several cases pending admission to jury trial, including Pastor Ricky Torres and Pastor Wanda Rolón, whom are suing Telemundo and Univision. Michael Jackson

When superstar pop legend Michael Jackson decided to cancel the worldwide “Dangerous Tour,” in 1993, little he know, and his world promoter of the time, Mama Concert & Ray, and its President Marcel Abraham, would promptly be found liable for the first time in their careers for fraud in the inducement, among other causes action, before a panel of three arbitrators from the AAA in the State of California. The case was finally settled when the panel was going to award punitive damages. Mr. Castellanos also represented and obtained substantial settlements for the promoters of the scheduled Puerto Rico and Mexico events. The amounts awarded where in the million of dollars. Don King

Mr. Castellanos was the first counsel in the United States to prove fraud in the inducement, among other causes of action (breach of contract), against famed and world known promoter, personality Don King, of Don King Productions, Inc. The unanimous verdict was issued by a jury in the Federal District Court, Southern District of New York, before the Hon. Judge Patterson. The award was in excess of a million dollars. Alfredo Castellanos Esq. argued that the compulsory licensing law for lawyers in Puerto Rico is unconstitutional. He refused to pay his local Bar’s Association  annual fee; and risked disbarment from The Supreme Court as a result of his fight against injustice within the local Bar’s Association, Filiberto Ojeda Rios, by honoring him with a funeral on their headquarters. Alfredo Castellanos Esq. was the first to denounce and take legal action against ” aiding and supporting a domestic terrorist organization, an unlawful enemy combatant under the Constitution of the United States”. Alfredo Castellanos Esq. legal action had a historical significance and  was the first step in the long legal and legislative process that lead to ending 200 years compulsory association.
